Kylstra Pisano House

Chapel Hill, North Carolina
Built by McLean Building Company
Passive solar considerations informed site planning and architectural design of this house for a family of six. The long dimension of the building parallels the south-facing slope allowing sun tempering to be used as a passive solar strategy. Kitchen, dining room, family room and breakfast room are combined into a single large space enlivened by a long wall of large south facing, overhang-protected windows.
